Cookie policy
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local and session storage, work in much the same way. This policy covers all of them, explains why we use them and tells you how to control them.
Your choice when you visit
When you first visit this website, a banner asks whether you are happy for us to use analytics cookies. You can choose Accept all or Essential only. Both choices are equally easy, and the website works fully whichever you pick.
Nothing from Google Analytics loads until you choose Accept all. If you choose Essential only, or simply ignore the banner, no Google Analytics cookies are set.
What this website uses
We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking or embedded third party content such as videos or maps. Our fonts and images are served from our own hosting, and links to LinkedIn only take you to LinkedIn when you click them.
| Name | Type | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
__dpl | Cookie | Lovable (website hosting) | Makes sure each visit is served by the correct, current version of the website. | 24 hours | Strictly necessary |
tsr-scroll-restoration-v1_3 | Session storage | This website | Remembers your scroll position so the back button returns you to the same place on a page. | Cleared when you close the tab | Strictly necessary |
pp-cookie-consent | Local storage | This website | Remembers whether you chose Accept all or Essential only, so we do not ask you again on every page. | Until you clear it or change your choice | Strictly necessary |
session-id | Cookie | Lovable (website hosting and visitor statistics) | A random identifier used by our hosting provider to count visits and page views. | 30 minutes | Analytics |
_ga | Cookie | Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another so we can count visits and see which pages are read. | 2 years | Analytics (only with your consent) |
_ga_* | Cookie | Google Analytics | Keeps track of your current visit so page views are grouped correctly. | 2 years | Analytics (only with your consent) |
Strictly necessary technologies
The __dpl cookie, the scroll position memory and the record of your cookie choice are needed for the website to work as you would expect, so the law does not require your consent for them. They do not identify you and are not used for analytics or advertising.
Google Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website: which pages are viewed, how long people stay, the page or site they came from, the type of device and browser, and an approximate location at city or country level. We use this only to improve the website and the content we publish.
Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited. Information collected may be processed by Google in countries outside the UK, under safeguards Google puts in place. We do not use Google Analytics to identify you, and we do not share the data for advertising. You can read more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Hosting provider statistics
Our hosting provider, Lovable, also records basic visitor statistics: the pages viewed, the page you came from, your browser type, language and an approximate country worked out from your time zone. This is linked to the random session-id cookie, which expires after 30 minutes. We use these figures only to understand which pages are useful. We do not use them to identify you or for advertising.
Changing your mind
You can change your choice at any time. Use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, or . If you withdraw consent, we stop loading Google Analytics and remove its cookies from this website.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies will not stop this website from working. Guidance for each browser is available at aboutcookies.org. To opt out of Google Analytics on every website you visit, Google offers a browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Changes to this policy
If we add or change the cookies we use, we will update this page and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent again.
